The Fort McHenry Guard presents Defenders of 1814 at Fort McHenry (2400 E Fort Ave Baltimore). This amazing “hands on history” event is available to check out 5 days a week now until Aug 19.

Here is a schedule of the educational and entertaining events throughout the day:

12 p.m. and 3 p.m. – Fife and drum music demonstrations. Hear the thunderous beat of drums and shrill of fifes of Fort McHenry’s nationally recognized fife and drum corps.

11 a.m. – 4 p.m. – Discover how average Baltimoreans contributed to the city’s defense against the British and see fashions from 1814, historic cooking, and a look at life on the home front.
