The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra’s New Music Festival is in full swing!

Thursday Jun 21 at 8 p.m. enjoy a Chamber Music Concert at Peabody Conservatory (Griswold Hall, 1 E Mt Vernon Place Baltimore). Tickets are only $15. Co-curated with cellist Inbal Segev, you can enjoy music performed by Thierry De Mey, Du Yun, Dan Visconti, Osvaldo Goliov and James Macmillan. Friday Jun 22 at 8 p.m. head to The Motor House’s Graffiti Alley (120 W North Ave Baltimore) for a FREE Chamber Jam.  Hosted by vocal percussionist Shodekeh, there will be performances by Du Yun & OK Miss and local new music group Mind on Fire.

Saturday Jun 23 at 1 p.m. enjoy Power Plant Live, a free Children’s Concert with Port Discovery (34 Market Place Baltimore). Fun for the whole family! Enjoy a performance of new percussion music, followed by a brief Q&A session. Featuring an interactive drum activity where children can make and take their own percussion instrument.

Saturday Jun 23 at 8 p.m. the party continues at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall (1212 Cathedral St. Baltimore). Join for a free symphonic concert, featuring the World Premiere of Kevin Puts’ Oboe Concerto, “Moonlight,” inspired by the Oscar-winning film. The program also includes Du Yun’s vivid Slow Portraits, Dan Visconti’s pastoral Slow Country Haze and James MacMillan’s Woman of the Apocalypse, written for Marin Alsop. A panel discussion with Marin Alsop, James MacMillan, Kevin Puts, Dan Visconti and Du Yun takes place at 7:15 p.m. in the Meyerhoff lobby.

Come early and enjoy a block party beginning at 6 p.m. outside of the Meyerhoff. Featuring food trucks and live music from DJ Double 8!
